ASH Stables

Instruction

The Riding Lesson Program includes students from age 4 to "mature"!  All lessons emphasize  the basics of classical dressage for use in all disciplines beyond the sport of Dressage such as jumping and recreational trail riding.  Our school horses are patient and well trained for their job.  Some horses are trained and quiet for show competition if the rider has ambition to pursue that end of the sport.  ASH Stables students have the opportunity to compete at local or recognized shows if that is their interest.  Lessons are scheduled for the length of an hour and beginners receive assistance in learning their skills in horse care/tacking/grooming/etc.  All beginners start their riding instruction on the longe line to underscore the basics of the seat and balance, and many times more advanced riders will request longeline lessons to review their position and aids or restore confidence from absence of riding for a while. More advanced students may thrive on the challenges that are before them to learn the gymnastics of training such as leg yield, shoulder-in, renvers, travers, and half pass.

The door to learning the sport of dressage is never closed!

We are excited to announce that Brad Guida will be joining our facility from Jan. until April.

We will be booking lessons for him.

Brad has been teaching students and training horses for over 20 years. He has trained at such farms as Iron Spring Farm - Coatsville PA, Blue Banks Farm - Greenville NC, Hamilton Riding Club - South Hamilton MA, Myopia Hunt Club Stables - Hamilton MA, Boston Equestrian Center Revere Ma, among other.

He has trained with such trainers as David O’Brien, Dotty Marquis, Charley Plumb, David Boley, Amy Hazard, Lynn Harris. He has worked for George Morris, David O’Brien and David Boley.

His students have competed and consistently won at “A” Rated shows as well as have moved on to have their own farms or have become trainers themselves. His philosophy in teaching and training puts a strong emphasis on dressage to be used not only in the dressage ring, but also heavily in both hunters and jumpers. He is a firm believer that the basics of dressage are imperative in any style of riding. It does not matter how talented the horse, if the basics are not there, they are being hindered in their educational development.

Brad likes working with the beginner/amateur rider to the experienced rider/trainer. He can help you re-school a horse that had a prior career, put the foundation on a young horse or give you the eyes on the ground to work with and polish an experienced horse.

Whatever your goals are, be it hacking through the county or competing in dressage or jumping on a national/international level, Brad is available to assist you in achieving them with a positive professional attitude and a wealth of equestrian knowledge.
